September email to parents with general information:

The first week has gone smoothly and students should be aware of all expectations and requirements. I have included a few of the handouts that I have given to your student in the email. In addition, please complete the google form for the best method of communication.

General Information: (see syllabus for more in depth overview)

Homework is given every evening and is due the next day at the beginning of class. When a student is absent it is expected that they watch the Lesson video, posted on Google Classroom, and try their best on the homework. Their work is due the next day they are in class. Exceptions will be made on a case by case basis. 

Students will need a notebook for Math Journals. These notebooks will stay in the classroom and be used once or twice a week. The notebooks are not graded but a way for students to leave 7th grade math with a reference 

POW (Problems of the Week)

These are an optional extra credit assignment available on Mondays and due on Friday before the end of the day. Students who answer the question correctly with complete and accurate work will earn 2 bonus points. There are usually 4 POW opportunities each quarter. 

Tests and Quizzes

Before any test we will complete in class review. Students are able to complete corrections on all tests for half credit back by completing the corrections form accurately and completely. There are no corrections offered on quizzes or open note tests.

Students will be notified at least a week in advance before any tests/quizzes and should seek help on topics when needed. 

I am available after school on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for office hours.
