Sheila Ornstein is the SE STANYS Treasurer. She taught Earth Science, Biology, and General Science. She is a STANYS Fellow, a past Midlevel SAR, past Midlevel DAL, recipient of the STANYS Service Award and the SE Outstanding Science Teacher Award.
Ashley Green is the SE STANYS chair. She grew up in Rockland County, studied undergraduate level Biology and Chemistry at SUNY Albany and completed two Masters degrees at Mercy College. She began teaching Chemistry in 2006, and has taught in Rockland and Orange Counties. Ashley also taught SUPA Forensics for many years.
Trace Keller is the SE STANYS Subject Area Representative for Earth Science. He currently teaches Earth Science in Millbrook. Trace earned a Masters in Science Education from Antioch, and is also certified in Biology, General Science, and Chemistry. He has worked as an outdoor educator and coaches cross country year round. He built his own house and will be happy to talk with you about sustainability initiatives!
Cornelia Harris is the SE STANYS secretary. She is currently pursuing a PhD in science education at SUNY Albany. Previously she worked as an environmental educator with the Cary Institute, taught English abroad, and taught sixth grade science in Baltimore. She is certified in Biology, currently teaches at the college level, and is working on her 1-6 certificate.
Larry Rand is the President of SE STANYS.
Toni is the Elementary SAR for SE STANYS. She has a BA in Biology and MST in Elem. Ed (both from SUNY New Paltz). She has been an elementary teacher at the Chester Union Free School District for 18 years, and has also done research and development as a cosmetic chemist for Avon Products, Inc.
