CHORUS

The Chorus consists of Freshman, Sophomore, Junior and Senior boys and girls at Saint Anthony’s High School, a Roman Catholic Franciscan High School in South Huntington on Long Island. Chorus is an academic credit-bearing class which factors into quarterly and yearly cumulative averages. The Chorus performs two major concerts each year: the Christmas Concert in early December and the Spring Concert in early May. The ensemble also sings at numerous occasions throughout the year including Junior Ring Day and Graduation Commencement. 

The Chorus is a storied tradition at Saint Anthony's; generations of students have been in the Chorus with parents and sons and daughters all performing in the ensemble over the years. Countless Alumni return at both Christmas Eve Mass and for Holy Week services to join the Chorus in singing at these sacred rituals. 

Many will remember the famed NYC Chorus Trip --- including Handel's Messiah with caroling stops across New York City at the height of the Christmas season. A beloved tradition is the find "Brother Joshua" series with Alumni meeting up with Brother Joshua and Mr. Farrell as they make their way around the city with the students. 

Those interested in joining the Chorus must complete a voice interview with the Choral Director during Course Advisement Day. The repertoire of the Chorus consists of traditional Gregorian Chant and Classical to Spirituals and Contemporary pieces. The Gregorian Schola has recorded multiple CDs which are available for purchase. Proceeds from CD sales go to support the European Concert Tours.
