We have been putting a different spin on Easter Eggs this season. We studied the work of the jewelry designer, Faberge. We discussed his relationship with the Czar of Russia and how these eggs became a symbol of the opulence of Russia's elite class. He created beautiful Easter Eggs laden with jewels and precious metals. He did not use the most expensive materials, but rather focused on the craftsmanship of his work.

Our class talked about craftsmanship, taking our time, and planning our designs from start to finish.

While we love working on this project, we have to set it aside for more clay! Yes, we have another clay mobile visit coming up on Friday, May 13th. The kids are hoping they get their first creations returned to them that day. Either way, they are pretty excited to work with clay again!
