The user presses the push button to initialize the game. A countdown of the 60 second game timer is displayed on a LED matrix. If no input is detected for 20 seconds, the game enters an idle state and resets.
The user can turn the potentiometer knob the adjust the speed of the blimp motor as it travels linearly along the track. This simultaneously changes the game difficulty, with a faster speed resulting in a higher probability of enemy turning around.
A red LED above the LED matrix will start blinking to indicate an approaching trial. When the LED flashes, the user has half a second to stop the motor by putting their hand over the IR proximity sensor.
If the user is successful in stopping the motor, the game will enter a "plague" when the red LED will fully light up, and the plague doctor, mounted at the end of the track, will rotate to face the user. The IR proximity sensor must remain blocked during this time.
Once the red LED turns off and the plague doctor turns back, the user can remove their hand from the IR proximity sensor to resume movement.
This process is repeated until the user reaches the end of the track and they win the game. A gear will be dispensed upon game success.
The game immediately fails if the user fails to stop the blimp during the "plague" or the game timer expires.
