Safe Chair is a fiscally sponsored 501(C)3 non profit initiative with the mission to bring preventative health services to underserved neighborhoods in California. Our women’s health program, Malak’s Women’s Collective is a community health initiative dedicated to empowering women of color in underserved neighbourhoods through accessible, preventative health education. In partnership with local beauty salons, we focus on increasing awareness around breast and cervical cancer, while connecting women to free and safe health screenings in their communities. We believe that lasting change begins with small, informed steps, and that every woman deserves the knowledge and resources to care for herself and her family.

Our goal is to increase women’s health and cancer literacy, as well as access to preventative care, in under-resourced communities, starting locally.
Objectives:
We aim to reach as many women as possible with accessible, culturally sensitive health education and services.
Specific outcomes include measurable increases in early screenings and preventative care utilization through the collection of personal stories demonstrating the impact of early intervention.
Eventual expansion of the initiative across the entire Bay Area.
