The box is made out of laser-cut duron panels. It was designed to be a perfect press fit, enable easy assembly without any fastners. However, to improve ease of operation of removing the back panel to service electronics, the press fits were supplemented with adhesives in SPDL.

Materials were primarily chosen to create a cost-effective and thus accessible PAL, using duron sheets for the box and some embellishments, PLA filament for the printed DS and SD card, and acrylic for the paw print decorations. Many of these were then spray painted to improve aesthetics.

While the 3D printed DS encasing was the core cosmetic element to help revive the Nintendogs nostalgia, embellishments such as laser cut dogs and paw prints were added to help bring greater warmth to the PAL helping FLIERS reach zen.
