The overall mechanical design consisted of 4 subsystems:
2 rounded rectangular plates laser cut from acrylic forming 2 floors, connected via 8 M3 threaded rods as columns. Both plates had holes for wiring and mounting, which allowed for more efficient wiring and stable connections.
4 wheels connected to motors via shafts, motors connected to chassis using M3 screws
Laser cut from an aluminum sheet and bent by hand while experimenting for perfect curvature. Ramp 'holder' was intentionally separate from the chassis itself and made so that it could be taken off if we needed to redesign anything. The holder was modeled to the real geometry and curvature of the ramp.
3d printed supports and rollers attached to the chassis with M3 screws. Belt made from rubber tape with hot glue texture for extra friction/grip.
