Causal brain mechanisms of value-based attentional capture in depression
Motivation based stimuli drive behavior in healthy people by capturing attention even when attention is focused elsewhere, such as when a dollar laying on the ground catches your attention as you walk by. In those with depression there are deficits in this motivation based drive. In this study we seek to examine how the brain responds to reward using fMRI. We also have an online-only version of the study.

Characterizing attention to reward in healthy aging
In this study, we measured behavior and brain markers of late life well-being. This is important because in the US population, older adults will soon outnumber younger (U.S Census Bureau, 2018). Identifying potential biomarkers of health vs. disease can improve quality of life and reduce healthcare costs.
