Entering Grade 5

Summer Work for Entering Fifth Grade:

Here is information about summer work (reading and math) that you will need this summer.  Please note that rising fifth graders have required reading and math assignments for the summer. 

Required and Suggested Summer Reading 

Each student will read the novel Ban This Book by Alan Gratz.  Students will complete the three pages of questions and turn them in on the first day of school  

Required Math Practice

The summer math packet is meant to act as a refresher of concepts that your child learned this year.  Please turn in the completed packet to Ms. Toomey and Ms. Bilbe on the first day of school in August. A copy of the math packet was sent home with your child during the last week of school. 

Also, make sure you keep up your math facts practice. It is very important that you show up to 5th Grade very fluent with your addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division facts.
