Summer Work for Entering Third Grade:
Here is the information about summer work (reading and math) that you will need this summer as you prepare for the 2025-26 school year. Note that your child has required reading and math assignments for the summer.
Reading is encouraged! We encourage you to make reading time a part of your summer routine. Even though your children are reading well on their own, we still encourage you to read with your child daily. Parents and children reading together can have a significant impact on your child's education. We encourage you to make reading time a special time of joy for you and your family. The reading lists attached are suggested titles for students to read. Please spend some time visiting bookstores and public libraries with your child this summer.
Required Summer Reading
Upcoming Third Grade students are required to read 1 book. They are required to read The Chocolate Touch by Patrick Catling. In addition to reading the novel, the students are also required to complete a poster project for the class. The guidelines are listed below.
Required Math Packet
Below you will see the attached summer math packet for students. This packet will help reinforce skills taught this past year in the Second grade. The packet is due to Mrs. Bienvenu on the first day of school. A copy of the packet was sent home with your child during the last week of school.
