Prior to the event make sure you know what waste issues exist in your school, and identify which waste you want to reduce? What is the current issues you have with waste?
To make the most of the STEAM Challenge, we encourage schools to prepare by investigating their own waste-related issues. Please complete the following tasks before attending the event:
Identify a Waste Issue
What is the most significant waste problem at your school?
Which type of waste do you aim to reduce (e.g., plastic, food, paper)?
Assess the Current Situation
How is this waste currently being managed?
What challenges does your school face in reducing or repurposing this waste?
Document Your Findings
Create a short summary (1–2 paragraphs) or a few bullet points highlighting your observations.
Bring any relevant photos, data, or examples to share during discussions.
