Just like it sounds, Google Drive can be used to store files online. Need to access an Adobe Premiere file on a different machine but the file is too large to email? Put it in your Google Drive to access from any machine that has access to the internet. Even though Google cannot open certain files, they can still be stored in Drive.
Google Workspace for Education Note: If you are using an Education account, you will have unlimited storage in Google Drive.
Although personal Google accounts only have limited storage as part of the free account, you can purchase more space. Find out more information here.
After uploading a pdf file into your Google Drive, you can right click on the file and choose Google Docs from the "Open with" options. This will make the pdf open with Google Docs, allowing edits to be made.
Note: some formatting may not carry over in the conversion process.
Use the search bar to find files quickly. Need more help locating a specific file? Use the Advanced Search option by click on the drop-down arrow in the search field.
Create and color code folders with the New Button. Use these folders to organize files to your liking.

Do you like files and folders shown in alphabetical order? How about showing files that were last modified first? Click the on the option on the far right of your Drive screen to change the sort type and order.
Maybe one of the most important aspects of Google Drive, sharing allows for collaboration within G-Suite Apps.
With a file or folder selected, click on one of these two icons.
Left icon - turn link sharing on or off and adjust settings.
Right icon - share with an individual and give editing, commenting, or viewing rights.
The examples below will focus on Link sharing. Click the button to see if link sharing is on or off. Adjust the slider to turn it on or off.
Click on Sharing settings to view other options.
Click the drop-down to change who can see/use the link.
Selecting "More..." from the list will show all available sharing options. Click Save to keep the settings.
Type in someone's name or email to share the file with a specific person. Using this method will, by default, give the person you are adding edit rights to the file.
