• Please continue to encourage your child to read, each night! If your child needs help in selecting a "just right" book, have them talk to me! I have a great number of books, all different genres on my bookshelf! 

• Spelling & vocabulary lists go home on Mondays. The spelling & vocabulary tests are typically given on Fridays, but changes in schedule do happen! 

• We are in the first marking period which means our genre of writing is persuasive. Being a persuasive writer means you must know your audience and how you can convince them to change their mind on a topic. In this style of writing, we learn how to state an opinion and then back it up with information. 

• Want your child to spend time on their iPad or Chromebook and have meaningful learning? Have them "Wonder" through the site wonderopolis.org This site allows for students to drive their own personal inquiry. The students search a topic of their choice....read articles, and watch videos about it. It's a fun and engaging site! Happy Learning!
