Welcome to Grade 4 with Mrs. Denison!
I have been lucky enough to call Rogers International School my home since 2010. I live in Stamford, CT with my 3 sons and husband of 20+ years. I LOVE reading, photography, sports (especially NY Mets Baseball), Running and of course....teaching! I have a dog named Brody (4) and I enjoy taking him for long walks with other Dog Moms. I most enjoy heading to our local beach, Cove Island and walking with them there. Close to the water.
I try to take a picture of the sunrise every morning, and share it with my family and friends. Many of the pictures you see on this site have been taking with my iphone, but I have also moved onto more serious photography with a Sony. This July, Stamford Magazine published one of my pictures! It was a humbling experience and the article was
This summer I spent time in Maine and Cape Cod. I love the water, but I do not usually go into the ocean. I get a little nervous if I cant see to the bottom of the body of water I am in.
Our favorite summer destination is always Cape Cod, MA! We go every year with my best friend and her family. I traveled to a different beach in the morning to see the sunrise. It was a great challenge and helped me stick to my step count goal of 20,000 plus each day. My favorite memory from CC ever.... was when we paddleboarded and I actually fell off! Remember that I do not like water where I cant see the bottom.? I freaked! My family laughed at me and it continues to be a great story and memory I wont soon forget. This year, I didnt fall off a paddle board, but I did catch a fish or two with my son JJ, this was equally as challenging and memorable. We also bought (and ate) a great deal of chocolate from our favorite candy store called, the Candy Company.
The biggest change for our family is that our oldest son Tyler is now a sophomore at Villanova University in Pennsylvania. He is in the Honors College and studying Political Science. My middle son JJ is now a Senior at Stamford High. He is beginning to look at colleges, just like his older brother. He loves to play hockey for Stamford High and also runs for their cross country team. He is the best helper around the house and I can always count on him to be my right hand man.. My youngest son Brayden is now in his final year here at Rise. IS and is in 8th Grade. He is a tremendous storyteller and loves to share. He enjoys country music and is an offical Master Lego Builder. He has the mind of a future engineer in my opinion. He has a pet axolotl (think Minecraft) that he named MEPE. M.E.P.E. stands for Most Expensive Purchase Ever and he has lived up to his name.
I am grateful to be back in 3rd grade this year with a new team. I am eager to meet my rising students (and many siblings of past students) and welcome each of you to the Mrs. Denison's Classroom Family! Its a special place and I hope you're ready to make memories with me!
I love taking pictures. A LOT! In fact, I get up early each morning to take pictures of the sunrise (or twighlight) at Cove Island. I often make my friends and family stop to take a quick selfie too. To the left you sill see the artcile that ran in Stamford Magazine this July. What an honor! Here are some of my favorites pictures from the past few years.
