Habitat Loss
By: Emily
People are destroying the bees' habitat by cutting down flowers and plants to put in roads, cities and houses. This causes their large habitats to get split into smaller parts and it is hard for the pollinators to find mates, food and pollen.
My next reason habitat loss is bad for pollinators is it causes poor nutrition! Plant loss leads to malnutrition which will weaken pollinators and increase their chances of catching diseases. The plants bees need for food are not being planted as much anymore. Bees and other pollinators have small foraging ranges that depend on local plants and if they can’t find the plants. their living conditions suffer.
Another reason for habitat loss is agriculture! Farming replaces natural fields and uses chemicals that harm wildflowers. Also, when people mow their lawns they destroy underground hives which causes pollinators to find new homes in other areas. As you can see, my reasons show how pollinators' homes are getting destroyed and disrupted, so as humans let’s stop that!
