You will need to learn and understand anatomical language to describe different parts of the body in reference to their correct location. For example, anterior, posterior etc.
You will learn the location, anatomy and function of the cardiovascular components, the function of the cardiovascular system and the Cardiac Cycle.
You will study location, anatomy and function of respiratory system components, the function of the respiratory system and the control of breathing.
During lessons we will look at bone anatomy, how bones grow and develop and location of skeletal bones. We will also study ligaments and joints and the function of the skeletal system.
As part of your study you will find out about the different muscle types, the neuromuscular process of muscle contraction, location of skeletal muscles , antagonistic muscle pairs, types and planes of movement.
Finally, we will bring everything together and look at how these systems produce movement in sport and exercise.
