Volunteer to Work a Booth
If you and your family enjoy the fun and fellowship that comes with this event, we ask that you please consider signing up to assist for a couple hours one night. We promise lots of fun and a chance to meet new St. Albert friends! (And it's no fun to have empty booths😔 ) Sign up below.
Work a Shift at the Cake Booth
You can work the cake booth and win a cake too! Be the icing on the cake by volunteering! The cake booth needs 100 volunteers to cover every shift over the weekend. If you and your family enjoy the fun and fellowship that comes with this event, we ask that you please consider signing up to assist for a couple hours one night.
Help with Booth Tear Down
Don’t miss out on the best part of the picnic--SETTING IT UP AND TEARING IT DOWN! Please sign up as we have no magic fairies or wands to get it done. And, as always, we’ll have a fun time with this effort. It’s a great way to see old friends and meet new ones!
We'll start setup on Monday. We really need more folks to help tear down on Saturday night. We’ve shortened the shift to end at 12 AM, but for that to succeed we must fill up these slots with many volunteers. Thanks!
The Gambling Booth has (7) Blackjack tables and (2) Texas Holdem’ tables. We are entirely staffed by volunteers from our parish, so we are always in need of folks who can work as dealers at these tables. We can train you. The only skills you need are basic math and a desire to have fun! Contact Jeremy at jeremy.kenyon@gmail.com
Do you live or work near a high traffic area? Yard signs are available to post in your yard, neighborhood or business. Grab one at the parish office or in the gathering space of church!
Please Return Yard Signs to the back of Church after the picnic if possible!
Do you like to bake? We need homemade desserts! Drop off homemade items on Friday and Saturday after 10a.m. the day of the picnic. Do you like to eat cake more than bake cakes? We also accept store bought desserts anytime during the Summer Picnic.
The Stuffed Jar Booth is one of our most popular games! To make it a success we rely on donations for the prizes. This is a fun way to get your family involved in the picnic. Here’s what you can do!
Collect or purchase clear plastic jars- clean, large sized peanut butter or snack jars, Glad or Ziploc food storage jars and inexpensive wide-mouth water bottles.
Fill a jar with treats and prizes- candy, stickers, puzzles, hair ties, sweatbands, art supplies, sports cards, glow sticks, Legos and small toys. Adult prizes too, like tea bags, nail polish, golf tees, retro candy and stationary items.
Drop your jar to the Stuffed Jar Booth during Summer Picnic hours. Be creative!
While you're having fun at this year's picnic, you might also have the opportunity to help save someone's life! A group of St. Albert volunteers for NMDP Registry (formerly Be the Match) will be on site from 5 to 9 p.m. on Friday and Saturday evening (or until we run out of swabs). We will be swabbing the cheeks of volunteers aged 18-40 to enter potential donors into the National Bone Marrow Registry. NMDP connects cancer patients with a matching donor for a life-saving blood stem cell transplant.
Parishioners and school parents Amanda and Rob Oakley recently shared their story that Rob donated his bone marrow to a teenage cancer patient 11 years ago and has since received bone marrow stimulant as part of his own chemotherapy treatments during his fight against stage four colon cancer.
Joining the registry if you're able is a great opportunity for us to step up as a community in honor of the Oakley family as they are an inspiration to us all. (For clarity, this drive is not to find a match for Rob, just to do good in the world like him!)
Learn more at nmdp.org and help us spread the word!
Did you know we offer shuttle bus transportation from Wilder Elementary to St. Albert Campus every 10-15 minutes on Friday and Saturday nightof the Summer Picnic? Why walk when you can ride in cool AC! Especially at the end of the night.
