Dear Kindergarten Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to St. Thomas the Apostle Kindergarten!  We are truly excited to be starting this journey with you.  If at any time you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call or email the school office.

This letter is to inform you of the schedule for the first week of school, uniform requirements and required supply list.  Your child will receive their teacher/classroom assignments the first week of August through the mail and email. 

Thursday, September 4th  9:00 - 9:30 am Classroom visit

                                              9:30-10:00 am Parent Orientation

 Classroom visit – You and your child are invited to an informal visit of the classroom, no need to wear their uniform. This will give your child an opportunity to become acquainted with the classroom and meet their classmates.   

Parent orientation - will be held in the classroom at 9:30 am that same day. This meeting is a parent orientation for the upcoming kindergarten year.  We will explain all classroom policies and procedures, distribute classroom information and answer all questions. During the parent orientation the teacher aides will take kiddos out to the playground for some fun with new friends.  Then, the day will wrap up with a craft in the lunchroom.

Friday, September 5th  Noon Dismissal.  All children will arrive at school by 8:20am according to their normal arrival schedule and will be picked up in the car line at noon. There will be NO afternoon bus transportation for kindergarten on this day. 

Monday, September 8th   Full Day, Normal Dismissal. 

Uniform Requirements for Kindergarten:

Boys Summer Uniform: Green polo with STA embroidered, khaki shorts (no cargo), sneakers.

Boys winter uniform: White button-down shirt, navy vest, khaki pants (no cargo), plaid STA tie, black or brown shoe.

Girls Summer uniform: Khaki skort, green polo, white socks, sneakers, OR plaid jumper, white peter pan collar blouse, navy knee high socks. 

Girls winter uniform: Plaid jumper, white blouse, navy tights or knee-high socks, navy cardigan sweater (sweater is optional), black or brown shoes.

Examples of the school uniform are posted on the School Website.  Gym uniforms, spirit wear, and the green polo can be ordered through the School Store.
