Happy Flexible Instruction Snow day!
IXL for 30 mins for both math and ELA. They may do 3rd grade skills or the tab "from your teacher" I have starred about 30 new skills between math and ELA.
The students should also have completed the math review in their home folder for the upcoming math test. It will not be the day we return, but the following day. The 4 page review should be turned in on the day we return to school.
The social studies quiz will still be on Wednesday.

We have been learning about vertebrates in science class. Students are encouraged to pick a specific vertebrate animal and research facts on the animal. The paragraphs should introduce the animal, include its habitat and where it lives, how or what it eats, and it should include interesting facts about your animal.
The paper should be at least 2 paragraphs with 5 sentences in each paragraph.
Final paper may be typed or neatly handwritten in cursive
Must have one reliable source for the bibliography page NOT WIKIPEDIA– NatGeoKids is acceptable! .org or .edu are preferred
Must have a cover page with picture of your animal
Each paragraph must have a topic sentence and details supporting it

We have worked on 0-9s these last 2 months. Knowing their multiplication facts is an essential part of math in Middle and High School. Please help your child over vacation! Some ways include, flash cards, ipad apps, writing them out, practicing in the car, singing them to a beat, or finding fun videos about facts fluency, skip counting ect.

Students have the opportunity to run for Third Grade Class Representative on Tuesday Morning. Please prepare a short speech. Students will say the speech Infront of our class. I need to know by Monday if your student is running. Please also review the possibility of losing with your child. Only one child can win., but I am so excited if they choose to put themselves out there!

The students worked hard today, and they did a great job! They learned all about Carlo Acutis. The young boy who will be canonized on Sunday In Rome. He cataloged the 122 miracles of the Holy Eucharist. I am looking forward to a great year!

Today we worked though policies and procedures and finished some work from yesterday. Books must be covered by Monday 9/8. Three fourths of our class presented their Owl bags, and they were so fun! It was great getting to know the students! Please turn in Green Emergency Cards also by 9/8/2025.
