This opportunity is an important step in your child's education, allowing them to gain valuable skills and confidence. Our program is designed to provide practical learning and foster adaptability and resilience in a safe and inclusive environment.
As your child enters our world of sound, video, projection and staging, rest assured that their wellbeing and development are our top priority. We aim to offer a rewarding experience that positively impacts their life, education and future endeavors.
Putting your mind at rest...
Safety First:
Your child's safety is our primary concern.
We have stringent safety protocols in place and maintain secure, supervised workspaces. Our facilities are designed to minimise risks and ensure a safe environment for all participants.
For learners under 18, we conduct thorough young person's risk assessments to address their specific needs, ensuring a safe and supportive learning experience. These assessments identify potential risks and tailor safety measures accordingly, including additional supervision or resources as needed. Your child's safety and peace of mind are our top priorities.
Experienced Guidance:
Rest assured that your child will benefit from the guidance of seasoned industry professionals,
each boasting an impressive track record in their respective fields. Our dedicated team brings years of hands-on experience to the table. They possess a deep understanding of the intricacies of sound, video, projection and staging. Throughout the work experience program, our team will offer support and mentorship, ensuring that your child's journey with us is not only enlightening but hopefully a source of inspiration. We are committed to sharing our knowledge, providing valuable insights and igniting your child's passion for the world of live events and technical production.
What Will They Actually Be Doing?
During their time with us, your child will have hands-on experience of the fascinating world of theatre and events,
with a primary focus on our warehouse operations. Here's a more in-depth look at what your child can expect during their work experience:
Technical Theatre Equipment Preparation: Your child will actively participate in the meticulous preparation of technical theatre equipment. This includes setting up speakers, projectors, lighting fixtures, sound desks and amplifiers. They will be tasked with ensuring that every piece is performance-ready to meet the high standards of renowned shows. Some tasks may seem repetitive, but they are essential to maintaining the consistent quality our customers expect.
Quality Assurance and Maintenance: Your child will play a pivotal role in maintaining the quality and reliability of equipment. This involves conducting thorough inspections, running tests and addressing any issues that may arise. They will learn the art of fine-tuning and ensuring that every cable and connection is not only reliable but exceptional. This practical involvement is integral to understanding the backstage magic that underpins every successful live production.
Learning Valuable Skills: Beyond the technical aspects, your child will gain insights into teamwork, problem-solving and adaptability. They will become an essential part of our team, working in a collaborative environment that values respect and inclusivity. These soft skills are not only beneficial for their work experience but also for their personal development and future endeavors.
While some tasks may seem repetitive, we are definitely not the glamorous side of the industry, they all contribute to maintaining the consistently high standards our customers have come to expect from us. It's about providing your child with a holistic realistic experience that prepares them not just for the theatre and events industry but also for life's diverse challenges.
What will They Learn?
Your child's experience with us is an opportunity for hands-on learning that aligns with valuable skills they'll carry forward.
During their time with us, they will learn about:
Technical Proficiency: Gain practical knowledge in handling and maintaining professional audio and visual equipment, including diagnostics, maintenance and troubleshooting.
Attention to Detail: Develop a keen eye for precision as they learn to conduct thorough equipment inspections, ensuring every component meets the highest standards.
Problem Solving: Learn the art of creative problem-solving as they tackle real-world challenges related to equipment functionality.
Teamwork: Discover the importance of working collaboratively within a team, a skill that transcends the theatre and events industry and is valuable in any future endeavor.
Communication: Hone their communication skills, both verbal and written, as they interact with industry professionals and fellow team members.
Time Management: Understand the significance of time management and organisation in a fast-paced environment.
These experiences will equip your child with valuable skills that extend beyond the workplace and will serve them well in their studies and other endeavors. Additionally, if your child's school or college has specific elements of the curriculum or program of study that would align with their time with us, we are more than happy to collaborate closely with them. Our aim is to provide a tailored experience that harmonises with their educational goals, making this work experience as enriching and relevant as possible to their academic journey. We are committed to ensuring that your child's time with us contributes to their personal and educational development.
Open Communication:
While we primarily liaise with the schools/colleges, your active support, encouragement and involvement are vital
to the success of your child's work experience, just as it is with their education. We understand that communication is key, especially in case there are any concerns, questions or specific needs that arise during your child's time with us.
Our commitment to open lines of communication ensures that we can promptly address any issues and work together to provide the best possible experience for your child.
