The Dual Immersion a Los Alisos is a continuation of the District’s Pathway Program towards the State of California’s Biliteracy Seal of Distinction. Students participating in the program take two core courses in Spanish while the rest of the schedule is in English. Students who have been in Duel Immersion at the elementary school will automatically be placed in appropriate classes. Those who have not been enrolled in a Dual Immersion at elementary school but are biliterate in Spanish may take a placement test offered in March to qualify for the program.

Students are introduced to the foundations of the Spanish language with a strong emphasis on communication. Students will engage in speaking, reading, listening, and writing activities to gain proficiency. Tasks and projects are purposeful in helping students practice their acquired skills. In addition, students will explore the cultural aspects of many Spanish-speaking countries.
Students who maintain a C or better and continue on with Spanish B the following year are eligible to receive credit for one year of foreign language in high school. This will fulfill part of the A-G course requirements.
Learn how you can improve the world with Engineering Essentials! Explore how engineers make a difference and improve lives, while using modern engineering tools, such as geographic information systems, 3-D solid modeling software, and prototyping equipment. Work on your own and as part of a team to develop solutions to community and global challenges that the next generation of engineers will face.
This is a yearlong Honors Elective Course designed to help you push your skills and learning to the next level; Best of all, you will receive 10 High School Elective Credit.
The yearlong course offers students an introduction to elements of visual communication and the print world. Students develop essential communication skills through reporting, class discussions, and presentations. Additionally, participants learn the fundamentals of photography as they document events occurring throughout the school year.
Video Production is an elective course offered for 7th/8th-grade students. Students learn to manage digital media, take better videos, and use online video editing software. This class is responsible for producing weekly content shown every Wednesday in classrooms.
In Orchestra, students have the opportunity to learn how to play double bass, cello, viola, and violin. They get to perform multiple times throughout the year in concerts, events and festivals.
In the band program, students learn an instrument of their choice. Students will learn different notes, rhythms, and advanced music theory. Choices vary from Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, French Horn, Trombone, Baritone, Tuba, Percussion and so much more!
Students learn the fundamentals of reading music as well as basic chords, strums, and finger patterns. Additionally, students study and perform various styles of music and popular songs.
