The wellness coordinator plays a key role in creating a healthy, supportive environment for all students. The top priority is promoting each student's overall well-being—physical, mental, academic, and social. This position is dedicated to ensuring students are healthy, safe, and ready to learn every day. The wellness coordinator also works closely with families and community partners to ensure students receive the support they need.
In addition, the wellness coordinator focuses on the following:
1. Connecting students and their families with appropriate resources and services.
2. Identifying students who may be struggling and assisting in securing proper supports.
3. Collaborating with the school's wellness team, staff, and administration to promote student success.
Strengthening the connection between student well-being and academic achievement is essential to creating an environment where all students can learn, grow, and thrive.
Our students' academic and social success opens doors for their future, but those next steps need tailored support for the students to thrive. At NHS, our College and Career Advisors work each day to bridge the gaps that exist for students between their daily life at school and their future lives in a career, training, or college of their choice.
How can we help?
Connect students to local businesses for shadowing, internships, and mentorships.
Guide students in the application process—from college apps to interview success.
Plan individually with students to get the most out of their high school years.
