McKenzie Center for Innovation and Technology is a fully accredited urban school in the MSD of Lawrence Township. As the exclusive Career and Technical Education Center for MSD of Lawrence Township, MCIT currently serves 2706 students in grades 9-12 drawn from the campuses of Lawrence Central and Lawrence North High Schools. The curricular offerings at MCIT vary across the more than 30 courses and 17 programs. Students have the opportunity to earn significant credit toward a post-secondary credential and in many cases graduate with an industry recognized certification that leads to a career.
MCIT is consistently recognized among the top CTE programs in the State of Indiana. With award winning teachers, programs and students, the school takes pride in every endeavor. The bedrock on which MCIT excellence is built is integrated STEM. With large Computer Science, Bio-Medical and Engineering programs, MCIT has grown well past the traditional vocational school model. Our students have a unique experience ripe with cutting edge technology and guided by industry partners. STEM Certification for MCIT is a natural byproduct of the STEM focus that has shaped our curriuclum and instruction for the past several years. As more students look to grow their career opportunities and avoid the financial burden of a traditional four-year degree, cutting edge CTE offerings in STEM Career fields are critical to filling gaps in our workforce.
