WHY RUN FOR FUN?: When most people learn to walk the first thing they want to do is RUN. Running is naturally ingrained in our DNA! Often times children begin to lose interest in running because it is used by society as a form of punishment. At the WILDCAT cross country camp we try to show athletes that this attitude is both false and dangerous. Running is more than an activity, it is a lifestyle. Learning to enjoy being fit and remaining fit are life long lessons that can not be replaced.
USING XC TO PREPARE FOR OTHER SPORTS: Cross Country is an endurance based sport. Basic Aerobic Endurance is the foundation on which all other sports are built. Several athletes use cross country as a means of improving their stamina, general strength, and mental approach to other sports. While Cross Country is a highly competitive sport within itself, the Wildcat Cross Country Staff welcomes athletes from all sports to come and prepare for another sport. Our mission is to help young athletes reach their goals. Therefore, YOU DO NOT NEED TO HAVE ANY PRIOR RUNNING EXPERIENCE TO ATTEND!
