Hello!
My name is Ana Amaya and I am honored to serve as your Professional School Counselor! I believe that everyone can succeed when they feel heard, supported, and empowered. LISD's counseling vision is simple. Personal Wellness. Empowered students. Promising Futures. It is my hope that I can provide that for all students at PCE.
I earned my Bachelor's Degree from St. Mary's University in Elementary Education and Spanish. I received my Masters Degrees in School Counseling and Professional Counseling from Amberton University. Before becoming a school counselor, I taught fourth and fifth grade. I started at PCE as a fifth grade teacher in 2006. The year after that I became the full time school counselor. I loved it here so much that I never wanted to leave.
I am married and have three children. In my free time I love watching my kids play sports, following the Dallas Mavericks games (GO MAVS, Dallas native here), and spending time with my family and goldendoodle. I look forward to working with you and your student this school year. ♥️
