Lewisville ISD's GT Vision and Mission

Our Vision:

Empowering Gifted & Talented students to explore their passions and potential, embrace their abilities and unique giftedness, and thrive in a future they create.

Our Mission:

We inclusively identify, engage, build relationships and ignite a desire for learning through empowering Gifted & Talented students to explore their passions while meeting their unique social-emotional and educational needs every day.

We believe that Gifted/Talented Students...

*Benefit from shared family, community, and school partnerships in developing individualized services.

*Possess unique social-emotional and educational needs that must be addressed for overall success.

*Deserve the opportunity to explore their unique passions and capabilities with like-minded peers.

*Need families, educators, and community members to have on-going learning equipping them to support the whole child.

*Value and need opportunities to work with like-minded peers.

*Are present in all populations and cultures.

*Require flexibility in systems and services.

GT Services:

As the Gifted & Talented Facilitator at Lewisville Elementary , my main role is to provide services to identified Gifted/Talented students through individualized instruction that focuses on LISD's Gifted & Talented Capacities: Self-Awareness, Communication, Creativity, Critical Thinking, Problem Solving, Research, and Leadership.

Additional Services:

Enrichment:

I provide Enrichment classes for students based on assessment data and teacher input.

Planned Experiences - Grades K-2:

I enjoy visiting Kindergarten through 2nd Grade classrooms multiple times throughout the school year to conduct Planned Experiences. Planned experiences are pre-arranged activities that are completed individually by the students after a whole group lesson. The results of Planned Experiences can show the possibility of a student possessing GT attributes. Further testing will determine qualification and entry into GT Services.
