The decision to select Honors courses are up to parents/students.
GT courses are NOT open enrollment. Therefore, they will NOT be available to choose in Skyward. Contact your 5th grade teacher or counselor about qualifiying for GT.
If your child is already identified as GT, we have pre-assigned them to GT ELA and GT Science in the course selections in Skyward. If you do not want your child to participate in one or both of these GT classes, please send an email to counselor, Briana Tairu at TairuB@LISD.net. Go ahead and add the Honors course you choose to have for 6th grade into Skyward.
SPANISH 2 Honors: If you are in the Dual Language Program at your elementary school, we have already selected Spanish 2 Honors for one of your elective choices. Please select a performing art course as your other elective.
YOU DON'T INPUT ALTERNATES IN SKYWARD JUST FILL OUT THE GOOGLE FORM
Parents only have “view only” access and cannot add courses. So, you will have to wait for your child to login to Skyward to add the courses on their devices through Skyward student access. If you try to login through parent access Skyward won't give you the option to add courses.
