Grading Policy

E...EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS: WOW!! You are a SUPER STAR! You went above and beyond when demonstrating all the skill requirements. You met all of the objectives and you always come to class prepared and bringing a GREAT attitude!

• Students awarded an E demonstrate all skills required for the daily activity, remain on task without reminders from the teacher, have a positive attitude, raise their hand to speak/answer questions.

M...MEETS EXPECTATIONS: NICE JOB!! You did exactly what was asked of you while keeping a positive attitude. You demonstrated the skill cues and met almost all of the objectives. You came prepared almost every day and needed very few reminders to stay on task.

• Students awarded an M demonstrate most to all skills required for the daily activity, remain on task with ONLY one or two reminders from the teacher to have a positive attitude, raise their hand to speak/answer questions.

S...SATISFACTORY: YOU DID OK... You did what was asked of you most of the time. You demonstrated some skill cues and met some of the objectives. You came prepared almost every day and needed very few reminders to stay on task.

• Students awarded an S demonstrate some skills required for the daily activity, remain on task with MORE THAN three reminders from the teacher to have a positive attitude, raise their hand to speak/answer questions.

N...NEEDS IMPROVEMENT: Students awarded an N did not demonstrate all skills required for the daily activity. This student demonstrated one or more of the following behaviors:

• was off task for MOST of the class time
• consistently talked out of turn
• consistently talked while the teacher was talking was a distraction to others
• abused art materials
• displayed poor attitude
• received a reflection form for inappropriate behavior.
