Instructions for choosing your 9th grade courses:
Step 1: If you are not a current LISD student, please scroll down to the New To District information below.
Step 2: Course Requirements for Graduation: This is for you to see what required credits are needed prior to graduation.
Step 3: Course Planning Example: This provides you an example of what a student's schedule looks like here at Hebron 9 on our accelerated block schedule. You are not choosing which semester you want your courses to be; however, we make every effort to give students 2 core classes in the fall and 2 core classes in the spring. The bottom half provides you a blank template for you to use for planning purposes. Again, you are not choosing which semester you want your courses to be placed.
Step 4: Choose 4 core courses from HHS9 Campus Course Offerings Sheet.
Step 5: Choose 4 elective courses from HHS9 Campus Course Offerings Sheet.
Step 6: Decide which 4 alternate courses you want from HHS9 Campus Course Offerings Sheet.
Step 7: You can use the HHS9 Course Planning Sheet as a rough draft for choosing your courses (will not turn in).
Step 8: Complete the Google Course Preference Form.
You have two opportunities to come to Hebron 9 to learn more about joining LISD. Our Hawk Expo (see info above) is on January 14th and is a huge event. Counselors will present on course selection, teachers/directors/coaches will be available for questions, merch will be sold, ets. You can also tour the campus.
The second opportunity will be on April 8th at 9am. This New to District meeting is a small meeting where only families who will be new to LISD can attend.
Beginning in 9th grade, grades that post at the end of the 9 weeks post to the transcript. These grades cannot be altered and will remain on the transcript through graduation. This is a presentation counselors do for parents to help answer questions about GPA and Transcripts. Please view the presentation for more information on calculating GPA and understanding the different parts of the Transcript. Click the button below to visit the LISD Counseling Website for more information.
Meeting held on October 30, 2025
Counselors conducted a live advisory lesson regarding Endorsements. All students must choose an Endorsement in Skyward. The information can be found here.
Most 9th graders will choose the Multidisciplinary Endorsement because they will receive 4 credits in each foundation subject area, including English IV and chemistry and/or physics.
In 10th grade all students will have an opportunity to choose a different endorsement.
Many students will graduate with more than 1 endorsement.
9th Grade is a huge transition and life benchmark. 9th Grade students experience many changes in one year, including physical, emotional, and social changes.
Please find the attached resources for parents. Files are updated often, so check back to see the latest information!
