Middle School (6th-8th) District Curricula Lessons
Early Mental Health Intervention (EMHI)
As a reminder, this curriculum is not related to SB 9 topics that require parent/guardian consent. LISD schools will use the district curriculum for the EMHI lessons in 6th-8th grade.
Our vision is to create an environment where our students are nurtured and supported, where stakeholders are aware of risk factors of suicide, and know how to actively seek help from accessible, effective school and community resources. While this is a very sensitive topic, unfortunately it has become an important one to address with our youth. Our hope is to empower our students to comfortably and confidently seek help for themselves or their friends who may feel depressed or suicidal.

Lewisville ISD is committed to spending the month of October to promote awareness and intervention of substance abuse. This year, counselors want to focus lessons on Academics in the classroom. We will focus on 3 key areas: Study Skills, Academic Expectations, and Goal Setting. These lessons will be taught through History and Math in December and January. Along with the lessons, students will answer pre-assessments and post-assessments about where they rank in different areas. You can preview both the lessons and the assessments below!
