The Library/Media Literacy club was created to increase student access to books and encourage students to read self-selected titles. As a way to both reward students for extraordinary behavior and good deeds and increase their home libraries, "Martha" the book vending machine was born. Students can redeem "gold coins" that they earn for a paperback book of their choice. Members of the Library/Media Literacy club are actively involved with the initiative, as they researched and voted on the selection of books that are available in the vending machine. Club members also publicly spoke about this initiative at a Board of Education meeting.

Students learn how to properly use DSLR cameras and the artistic components of photography. They then put these skills to use by documenting student events and participating in creative challenges.
