Wildlife

Since 2009 Karon and I have been transforming the Stackyard Nursery from one small overgrown field and one industrially farmed wasteland into a small rural business, our new life and an environment to encourage wildlife.

Over the years we have kept our own rare breed animals and gradually learnt how we should approach slow farming with an eye on quality and humanity. With our animals, the trees, shrubs, fruit and vegetables that we grow, using minimal external inputs, the environment has improved for the local wildlife. Long grass, tree planting, hedges and pond desilting still further positive impacts that we have had on the local ecology.

As a visitor with time to watch you may be able to add to our list of creature seen on the Stackyard Nursery:
