A Muscle MOT is an assessment completed at first during the initial assessment, and again in every session after to keep track of changes easily. This will include a score that tells you how tense your horses muscles are, which should lower over time showing your horses improvement!
For more information, and to see what each score means, check out the "Muscle MOT" page!
Under section 19: 24 of the Veterinary Excemptions Act, available on the RCVS website, massage therapy is applicable as a maintenance of a healthy horse, not a treatment of a diagnosed injury. As such, veterinary permission is not required by law, but will be requested if your horse is undergoing current or recent veterinary treatment that may affect or be affected by the massage. This includes lameness, colic, and other acute onset conditions. If a chronic or long term condition is present, such as arthritis or laminitis, please let me know during the booking in process as I would always prefer to double check that your vet is comfortable that it will help, not hinder, your horse - and so I know in advance what I can do to best help them feel more comfortable.
If cancelling within 24 hours of the appointment, you will be subject to the full charge of the service booked.
If cancelling within 48 hours of the appointment, you will be subject to half of the charge of the service booked.
If cancelling with more than 48 hours notice, you will not be charged a cancellation fee.
There is no fee for rearranging dates, but please give me plenty of notice when you can.
An extra fee may apply if you are outside of the area covered (see map), but this will be discussed during the booking in process.
