FOSS UPDATE - PAGE FIVE
Lost property - there is a huge amount of lost property at the school office, including uniforms, PE kits, coats, lunch boxes and water bottles. Please do come and look for items you may have lost or risk buying it back at the second hand sales!
Reminder - no nuts please - We are a 'NO NUTS' school, only food that does not contain nuts is permitted in school, this includes products stating they ‘may contain nuts’. Recently we have had five instances of children bringing food containing nuts into school. This is very dangerous for our children with nut allergies.

YEAR FIVE HAD A RIGHT ROYAL TIME IN FRENCH
Here's Madame Goalen's report ...
Year 5 has been learning about the way people in France celebrate 'Epiphanie' with a tasty French lesson! I brought in a tasty gallette for the children to sample. After cutting it, the children chose, in French, who would get a slice - 'Je voudrais une part pour...'. Charlie (Y5 Attenborough) and Beau (Y5 Lau) became 'le roi' as they were the lucky ones who found 'la fève' (the charm) while Emmeline Y5A and Amelie Y5L were chosen as 'la reine'. I wonder what treats they got from their teachers the next day? Some children even baked 'la galette des rois' at home afterwards!
The 6th of January is 'l'Epiphanie' or 'la journée des rois' and commemorates the visit of the three wise men to baby Jesus. It's traditional in France to eat 'la Galette des Rois'. French people will go to the bakery to buy this king's cake or make it themselves.
