DEAR MISS WELLS ...

Hermelin is an inspiration to Year Two. If you haven't heard of him, he is an intrepid mouse detective who finds missing possessions and anonymously (or should that be anonyMOUSEly alerts their owners to the location of said items! Taking a leaf out of his book, our Year Two children have been hot on the case looking for Miss Wells' missing notebook. After searching high and low, in classroom and cupboard, they found the offending item in the playground, on the climbing frame, no less. Eager to let Miss Wells know, they have penned some very helpful letters. Check out the beautiful penmanship!

THE SEW MUST GO ON

When everyone is in school, the marvellous 'Sew What?' runs Sewing Clubs for our children. However, during lockdown this wasn't to be. This has left some of our Year Three stitchers twiddling their thumbs and missing their weekly needling sessions. They decided that their needles had been idle for long enough and they needed to take up their fabric once again. Sew, armed with some fabulous sewing kits from 'Sew What?' they got together over Zoom for a virtual, online sewing session. We were so heartened by this lovely story. It is sew nice to hear that they are still stitching together, even though they are apart.

HELPFUL LINK FOR COPING IN LOCKDOWN

So many of us might be experiencing anxiety and need a little help during these strange times. Here's a message from Dr Caroline Gibbs, a Clinical Psychologist from the Children's Wellbeing Practitioner Service, and a link which provides some useful guidance

"We know that the past year has been difficult for our children and young people, but we also recognise that it has been challenging for adults too. If you are feeling overwhelmed or are struggling to cope, please know that there are services and useful resources available. The South-West London resource hub has been created so that you can access free services to support your own emotional wellbeing during this difficult time. Click on the link below for information on how to access mental health and wellbeing support for adults, young people and children. We know that many people have experienced losses during this time and information about bereavement support is also included."
