 A VISIT TO RECEPTION

RECEPTION CHILDREN GET THEIR CAKE AND EAT IT

When we think about children starting school, we automatically think about those first academic footsteps, but there is so much more. Going into the hall, choosing your lunch and then carrying it safely to the table, is a skill to be learned. After a few tiny mishaps, Reception have nailed it. When they have finished eating the delicious lunch, cooked by chef Nicola and her team, the children then proceed to the 'clearing-up table,' where they scrape their plates and put their cutlery in the container to be washed. Well done Reception. Check out the delicious 'pudding table' on the left. Each day our children are offered sugar free baked goods, yoghurts or fresh fruit as their final course.

When your learning topic is 'All About Me,' you need to find out how tall you are. Bricks and tyres are perfect units of measure. Practising writing our names and painting monochrome self-portraits were two more recent activities.
