Henry (Year 5) and his hardworking team of friends - Sam, Jake, Otto, Tobin, Jessie, Julia, Rafe, and Max - served up sunshine and sweet treats to a massive crowd.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, the team raised a phenomenal £230.48 for ADHD Embrace.
It was wonderful to see our community come together to support neurodiverse children and their families. A huge well done to Henry for his leadership and to the whole crew for being such inspiring upstanders. You’ve certainly left us all feeling inspired.
It was truly lovely to gather as a whole school community this week for our special Easter service at St Stephen’s Church. There is always a wonderful sense of belonging when we come together in such a beautiful setting to reflect and celebrate as one.
A massive well done goes to our Year 4 children, who performed the Easter story with such poise and heart, bringing the narrative to life for us all. The service was further enriched by the school orchestra, whose talented accompaniment set a beautiful tone for the morning. We were also treated to the sound of all the children joining together in song; hearing those voices fill the church was a powerful reminder of our shared school spirit.
Thank you to the team at St Stephen’s for hosting us and to all the families who joined us for such an uplifting celebration. It was the perfect way to head into the spring break feeling inspired and connected.
Prepare to be impressed! Our Year 5 authors have officially "published" their very own books, and the results are truly incredible.
Taking inspiration from the adventurous storytelling of Katherine Rundell, the children have spent the term crafting their own gripping survival stories. From brave protagonists to wild landscapes, their creativity and dedication to the writing process have been a joy to witness.
To celebrate their hard work, we would like to invite Year 5 parents and carers to a special Book Launch:
When: Friday, 17th April
Time: 3:15 PM – 3:45 PM
Where: Year 5 Classrooms
This is a wonderful opportunity to browse the finished masterpieces, hear from the authors themselves, and see firsthand how our recent school-wide reading drive is inspiring the next generation of writers. We can’t wait to see you there!
It’s the great school mystery: what do the teachers actually do when the children aren't here? While some might imagine us napping in the staffroom or having endless biscuit breaks, we thought we’d give you a little behind the scenes snapshot of our day today!
This afternoon, the teaching staff swapped their marking pens for Maths manipulatives. We’ve been deep-diving into the world of physical tools - using everything from Dienes and counters, number strings and base-ten blocks - to ensure our practice is the best it can be, informed by the latest educational research. It turns out, teachers love hands-on learning just as much as the children do!
And in case you were wondering - the same expectations and routines apply to the teachers when it's their turn to be the learners. When Mrs Smart counts down from three, the teachers all have to stop, put their hands up, and turn their voices off immediately. We’re happy to report that, for the most part, we managed to stay on green today - and there were even a few Golds!
It’s been a fantastic day of learning and collaboration, and we can’t wait to bring these fresh ideas back to the children after the break.
