It has been an incredibly busy few weeks for the FOSS team, and we are thrilled to share some exciting updates regarding our school libraries and reading spaces.
To make room for a fantastic selection of brand-new books - purchased directly from the funds raised by last term's Literacy Fun Run - our team has been hard at work refreshing our shelves. We have officially retired over 1,800 books from our library and classroom book corners.
These older titles have certainly served our students well, but they were ready to make way for fresh stories and updated non-fiction that we know our pupils are going to love.
A massive thank you to everyone who supported our recent second-hand book sale! We are delighted to announce that the event raised a brilliant £750. This money will go straight back into supporting literacy initiatives across the school.
A huge thank you goes to the wonderful people who made this transition possible:
Alex from The Children’s Book Project: Thank you for helping us find a new life for our retired books. It’s heartening to know these stories will be heading to children who need them most.
Ceri, Joss, and Chris: A special shout-out to our Book Week leads! Your energy and dedication to making reading fun and engaging for the children has been truly inspiring.
Thank you to our entire school community for your continued support. We can’t wait for the children to get their hands on the new books arriving very soon!
