This year the theme of this important week is 'Know Yourself, Grow Yourself.' The aim is to encourage children and young people across the UK to embrace self-awareness and explore what it means for them. We have some class sessions which will explore the theme, as well as calming yoga in PE. Charlie, our school nurse, will be giving talks to all year groups on a variety of topics, including the impact of exercise on mental health, self esteem and how to manage when we come across setbacks. We have two other very important visitors coming in, Mrs Cox and Margot the therapy dog and, for the first time, we are delighted to announce that Miss Rose will be bringing in her lovely giant rabbit to see our children. We are all very excited about the week and will bring you pictures in next week's issue.
Huge thanks to Harry C's Mum, who is a dentist, for coming in to give Year One a fantastic talk on dental care. Dental care and personal hygiene is a theme in our PHSE curriculm and we revisit it regularly. We hope that early guidance on how to look after your teeth will lead to good lifelong oral care for our children. They even got a little goody bag each. Thanks so much to Harry's Mum for such an illuminating session. The children loved it.
