Gold simply was not good enough, they had to give us platinum. We are thrilled to announce that we have been awarded a platinum level Sports Games Mark for our PE and sports provision. Sports Games Mark is a government-led awards scheme launched in 2012 to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community. To achieve this highest of accreditations our school had to meet a stringent list of criteria, proving we engage all our children in PE and games, nurturing their involvement, whatever their abilities. We also compete in competitions in many sports and so much more. All in all, we are hugely proud of this achievement. Many thanks to Mr Cain and his team and all our children for having such a positive approach to PE and games. Here we give you Mr Cain and some of our Year Six who took to the playground for a mass cheer in celebration. And who can blame them!
Last Saturday we travelled to Hampton School for a boys' football tournament which featured a combination of local state and private schools.
After performing so well season last year I was looking forward to working with this team again, a year older and wiser. The boys understanding of the game has deepened so much due to both our school and Brentford training. We started the tournament well, winning our opening game. And despite losing the second game, we remained unbeaten for the rest of the tournament. However, it did go down to the last game, where we needed a win to clinch the top spot. A draw would not have been good enough and the boys dug deep and fought hard for a 1-0 win. This ensured we brought home the gold medal, winning the Year Six section. Well done to all the boys - Aydin, Peyton, Oli, Seb, Freddie and Raff. We are all so proud of you.
