Lau class is enjoying following the lifecycle of a toad. Many thanks to Fred for donating some tadpoles. We will keep you posted on how things progress toadwise.
In this term's RE lessons on Christianity, Year Four is looking at the liturgy. We have been so lucky to have Mrs Lamprell and Lauren from St Stephen's church come in and give us some fabulous sessions on this topic. The Christian liturgy is the service components of a christian worship and can include hymns, prayers, Bible readings and communion. Mrs Lamprell explained to us that her church's liturgy is flexible and can involve a wonderful get together and chat among the congregation before the service begins. She also told us that our individual lifestyle routines comprise our own personal liturgy.
Another session with Lauren focussed on what the liturgy means at St Stephen's Church. She brought along a portable communion kit, explaining that for members of the congregation who were unable to attend church services, this provides a wonderful way of taking part in the liturgy. We even got to pass around the chalice!
