Dear Parents/Carers,
Extremism is a threat to all children including those within primary schools. Our local safeguarding services also tell us that children in our area are being groomed with extremist materials. It can happen to any child. Please read this very useful leaflet: https://www.educateagainsthate.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Parents-Booklet-accessible-final-updated-26-01-23-1.pdf so you can keep your child safe and keep conversations open. Year Three is learning how to write instructional texts and it is always good to base this on a real life activity. Miss Downes told us: "The Year Three children were lucky to have Scott Hardie from Redbeard Fire School demonstrate how to create a campfire. The students then wrote amazing instructional texts. A massive thank you to Scott for giving up his time to spark the interest of all students in Year Three."
