As you can see, our year Five children have been getting nifty with their sewing needles. They have been designing and crafting some containers. The choice was theirs; whether to make money containers, Ipad holders or book carriers, and they came up with some stunners. Crafted in felt or the fabric of their choice, they completed them with some excellent needlework.
A couple of weeks ago we brought you some images of our Attenborough children on a recent trip to the National Archives at Kew and today we bring you Lau. While there, the children enjoyed a workshop on Victorian criminals (fitting in with their current cross curricular topic on the nineteenth century). They got to see some authentic historical documents, finding out what life was like for many Victorian children. They discovered the homeless could be arrested for vagrancy and receive harsh sentences. They agreed that they would rather live now than in Victorian times.
