Chalk Art - With all the writing the children have been doing in class, it was so exciting to convert this independence into writing with chalk on a different surface. The children enjoyed the ability to write in bright colours, draw larger scale pictures and control the chalk as they have been learning to do so with a pencil.  

Gymnastics - Year 1 were very enthusiastic in the gymnastics lessons developing their skills of the terminology associated with the movements.  The children completed several stretches showing excellent balance and coordination.  They are now learning how to do handstands safely with their hands and heads in the correct positions. 

Sports - As we begin the summer term, Year 1 is training for the upcoming sports day with athletic skills in lessons.  This allows the children to build up sportsmanship as they learn to support each other as well as build upon the skills required for each activity.  

In Year 2’s Design and Technology unit we are going to be designing and making our own puppets. We have explored different puppets such as a shadow puppet, a string puppet, a hand puppet and finger puppets. We learnt how they are used and how they have been put together. 

Year 2 loved taking part in Robots Vs Rockstars day. They completed maths challenges throughout the day and also competed in an air band rock off!
