Sporting Achievements
We are proud to hear of the achievements of two of our pupils recently. Isla in year 2 came first in her gymnastics competition receiving a gold medal. Gabriel in year 6, took part in a football tournament and came home with a bronze medal after coming 3rd out of 24 teams. We are always so delighted to hear about the successes of the pupils outside of school.
Newham - Events and Advice
Newham’s Family Hub Network
Newham Council is one of 75 local authorities chosen to trial a new-style family support centre – known as a “Family Hub”. They are being funded in Newham through a £4 million Family Hubs & Start for Life grant fund successfully secured by the council from central government.
“Family Hubs” offer early support to families and young children to help them overcome difficulties and build strong relationships. Start for Life services (0-5 years) include help with infant feeding and parental mental health support, parenting and the home learning environment.
The first Family Hub opened at East Ham library on 17th April 2023 and it forms part of a wider Family Hub network that covers the East Ham and Plaistow localities. The three Children’s Centres – Altmore, Oliver Thomas and Plaistow also form part of this network, offering a range of services and activities for local families to access as part of a ‘One Stop Shop’.
Families can access the following services/support:
General information, advice and guidance
Housing and financial support
Employment and training
Parenting and early help support
Support for parents of children with additional needs
Play based activities
Health and Nutrition
Antenatal and Perinatal support
Domestic Abuse support
Infant feeding support

Important Reminders
Important Reminders
The school day starts at 8:50am. Please arrive in plenty of time so that your child is not late. Gate and classrooms are open from 8:30am.
Please do not park on the zig-zag lines at the zebra crossings, or on the double yellow lines around the entrances to the school. These parking restrictions are in place to keep everyone safe. Please also be mindful of parking on the curbs/pavements. The pavement is very narrow and these need to be kept clear for those who are walking.
Online Safety - it is essential that you monitor your child's use of the internet including apps on their phones. There are times when children are on platforms such as Snapchat, WhatsApp and others, when children can be exposed to inappropriate language and behaviour. You should ensure that your child knows who they are talking to/communicating with. Our advice would be to not use apps that are not age appropriate.

Smart Watches are not permitted in school. Some watches have the facility to take photos and videos. We are unable to check all watches, but we need to ensure that all pupils and staff are kept safe. The easiest way to ensure the safety of all, is to not allow any smart watches in school so that inappropriate recording can't take place. This includes smartwatches that have School time lock in place.
