As we learn about different materials and what materials objects are made from, we also became mini scientists and planned an investigation.  We wanted to know which materials would float.  We already knew what floating was as we made boats before half term, however, this time we tested objects from around the room.  We discussed the weight of the object, the material it was made from and the ability the object has to absorb water.  

We recorded our results like a scientist would and we shared our findings with each other.

During the Religion topic ‘Stewardship’ Year 1 developed an understanding of how it is their duty to care for God’s creation. 

The children prepared old milk bottles to plant new life and will look after the seeds to ensure they grow.  The children know that their new seeds will need light, water and love.  

In Year 2 we have been looking at using different techniques to create texture in our art. This piece was based on an artist called Alma Thomas!
