Our intent:
We aim for a high quality history curriculum which inspires in pupils a curiosity and fascination about Britain’s past and that of the wider world, to study the past to further understand our own society and human dignity. Through our inclusive, balanced and differentiated curriculum we ensure the progressive development of historical concepts, knowledge and enquiry skills.
Our teaching equips pupils with knowledge about the history of Britain and how it has influenced and been influenced by the wider world; to know and understand about significant aspects of history like ancient civilisations and empires; changes in living memory; lives of significant people; and to understand the methods of historical enquiry and historical concepts such as cause and consequence and similarity and difference.
To further support the love for History, we promote a variety of engaging learning activities both within the school environment and outside, through workshops and educational visits.
