Job Title: CNC Machinist 2nd Shift
Qualifications
CNC training and competency on lathes and mills.
Some degree of computer literacy.
Good verbal and written skills.
Ability to work safely in a variety of situations, follow rules and established processes.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience or equivalent training in a production machining environment
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the Shift Manager, Set up and operate assigned CNC work stations (lathe or mills).
Perform daily activities associated with the manufacturing of finished or semi-finished machined goods using automated and manual equipment and processes to meet end customer needs.
Hand load and set-up raw materials onto the machines in accordance with the specified requirements.
Maintain production at or above the standard rates.
Monitor machine operating parameters, adjust and fine tune as required either individually or with the assistance of shop supervision.
Track and review tool wear, assist in changing or replacing as directed.
Accurately measure, inspect, and record physical measurements using dial gauges, indicators, thread gauges, and other manual tools as needed.
Perform post machining finishing activities (polishing, deburring, chamfering, etc.) manually or with electric / pneumatic mechanical tools as appropriate for the job at hand.
Maintain a clean, neat, well organized work area on an ongoing basis.
Participate in annual inventories.
Perform special projects as required.
All work is primarily standing (90 + % of the shift) with the exception of breaks, lunch periods, and the occasional meeting.
Polishing and post machining finishing activities are regular and frequent, and these require a high degree of sanding, heavy polishing, and metal finishing that are combinations of fine motor activities and coarser work.
The incumbent is required to regularly lift, carry, bend, move, and manage materials weighing up to 45 pounds each on a regular basis.
