Job Title: Machine Operator
Job Description: The purpose of the Machine Operator position is to work on a variety of automated processing equipment producing disposables used in healthcare and other professional environments. You will lead a team to set up and operator high-speed production lines. You must feel comfortable operating complex machinery and lead your team to be constantly attuned to machine controls, functioning, and quality of output.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Machine Operator
The Machine Operator position works alongside a team of 3 – 5 coworkers on any given piece of machinery. The position reports to the Operations Manager. The essential and typically expected job duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:
Set up and operate production lines in accordance with work instructions and product documentation.
Make equipment adjustments to ensure defect free output.
Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Communicate with Maintenance to ensure problems are raised and solved quickly.
Follow all established policies, rules and regulations including lock-out tag-out procedures and safe machine practices.
Fill out Quality paperwork.
Required Education, Skills, Competencies, and Experience:
• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Proven experience as a machine operator, preferably on high-speed machinery.
• Mechanical aptitude.
• Must be able to read, write and understand English.
• Must be able to influence and work well with other coworkers on the line.
• Must have strong attention-to-detail.
• Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative in producing quality Gerson products.
Knowledge and comfort with working on older machinery.
