8th grade

8th GRADE DANCE COURSE

After participating in all 5 Fine Art offerings during the 6th and 7th grade, the eighth grade students are given the opportunity to retake a course that they had taken previously

in order to explore it more.

Those students that choose dance are committed to learning more technical aspects of the movement.

As a 6th and 7th grader, they experienced dance using natural gestures and their imaginations.

As an 8th grader, jazz technique and hip hop technique are introduced.

They are then divided into smaller groups so that they may choreograph on each other and

design their spring concert. Special guests are sometimes brought in to choreograph the finale.

Grades are based on participation, execution, performance, improvement and contribution to the

choreography.
